Good Counsel Network news and announcements: Fundraising Ball and David Aron's amazing long distance sponsored walk

It should have advertised this event a couple of weeks ago, so hope there are still tickets left for any of you who might be interested in attending!

The Good Counsel Network will be hosting a Black Tie Fundraising Ball on Saturday 19 November 2011 at Ognisko, South Kensington. According to Conor at the Good Counsel Network, this fun evening "will include a delicious three course dinner, live music and great dancing." It seems that this annual event on the pro-Life calendar is also an extremely popular one, and tickets sold-out early last year - to be sure to get in touch with the organisers as soon as possible!

Tickets are priced at £70.00 per person, though a special offer of £630.00 is available to tables of 10.

David Aron's long distance charity walk for the Good Counsel Network

David Aron
A few weeks ago I mentioned (here) that David Aron was going to walk 184 miles to raise money for the work of the Good Counsel Network. David began his 184 mile walk along the Thames Path Way last Friday, 7 October. Hopefully, he will be arriving in London tomorrow, Friday 14 October, in time to join other supporters of the Good Counsel Network for their bi-weekly EF Mass at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane.

The Thames Path Way Walk, which is 184 miles long, follows the course of the river Thames from its source near Kemble, Gloucestershire, to the Thames Barrier in London.

David has been walking alone for the past seven days and planned to cover around 25 miles a day. He has also been carrying all his kit (tent, food, sleeping bag and so on), which altogether weighs approximately 28 lbs (12.7 kg).

Those who would like to sponsor David can still do so by visiting his page on Just Giving. This young hero and witness to the Gospel of Life has now raised about a third of the money he was hoping to raise - so please be as generous as you can, so that his efforts on behalf of the Good Counsel Network's important pro-Life work may bear abundant fruit.
