You are the salt of the Earth - David Aron completes his long distance walk to raise funds for the Good Counsel Network

"walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8)
On Thursday, I mentioned that a young Catholic man called David Aron was about to complete his 184 mile walk along the Thames Pathway to raise money for the work of the Good Counsel Network pro-Life charity. Well, this evening I had the privilege of meeting this amazing man after the LMS sponsored Good Counsel Network's bi-weekly Mass at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane. Although he looked as if he could do with a well-deserved rest, David was full of joy as he told me that the experience of walking alone from the Cotswolds to the Thames Barrier in London had deepened his communion with Our Lord and his Blessed Mother.

David began his long distance walk not far from Cirencester with an early morning extraordinary form Mass on Friday 7 October - the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Whilst following the river Thames to London, he visited several towns and cities including Oxford, Reading and Windsor. David marked the end of his long journey yesterday, by attending Mass in central London for the feast of Pope St Callistus I.

According to the Good Counsel Network's blog, Maria Stops Abortion (which is well worth a visit), David "decided to attempt this 8-day walk to raise money for The Good Counsel Network in a sincere hope that his efforts will help to save more unborn lives." I know that David Aron's exhausting and heroic pilgrimage will bring great blessings on the work of the pro-Life charity, and has already raised a considerable amount of money for the Good Counsel Network's mission.

It is still possible to sponsor David by visiting his page on Just Giving. Please be as generous as you can. It might also be nice to leave him a message of thanks for having completed his walk of witness and love - an amazing feat (should that be feet!?), I'm sure you'll agree!
